No wonder nobody likes you,” said Glenston coolly as he flicked his graying hair. “You youngsters never show any respect to your elders. “You’ll get it when you need it, old man!” replied Eric. “Where’s my rent, Eric!?” yelled Glenston. As they met each others' eyes, they immediately flared up with anger. He even considered him to perhaps be a friend, no, like a father. In fact, he constantly badgered him about his behavior, his rent, the works…but Eric enjoyed that. This man didn’t avoid him or give him cold stares like the others did. Glenston disliked Eric as much as anyone else, which wasn’t surprising. Unfortunately, this would prove to be his downfall…Įric was halfway done with his bottle when his landlord, Mark Glenston, passed by him. ![]() He was so confident, in fact, of his abilities that he accepted any duel proposed to him. It had always been his dream to become a turbo duelist, riding down the lane, the wind rustling through his silky, black hair. But there was one thing he took seriously: dueling. In fact, there wasn’t anyone who even ventured to form a friendship, much less a bond with him. In other people's eyes, Eric wasn’t strong, gifted, or kind. He wasn’t the smartest kid in his class back when he was at Duel Academy, at the bottom of the heap actually. His employment was rather inconsistent, for he took any job he could find. Tossing away the “trash cards”, or so the group had called them, he rode into the black on his duel runner, craving a greater challenge.īright in the morning the next day, Eric Uchiha, an orphaned 16-year-old, strolled down to the local market, buying a bottle of iced tea as he did every other day. The rogue duelist scanned the fellow’s deck, full of junk cards, not unlike all the other duelists his boss ordered him to defeat. The man in the black cloak knocked a senile old man down, having just finished another duel. Leaving his family for-what was it again? The fame? The power? The money?
